Hockey Aspirations: I am working towards focusing on my development by playing junior hockey after this season. By playing junior, I feel I would be in an environment that would offer me the best conditions and opportunities for continued growth.
Looking beyond junior hockey, my ultimate goal is to progress into either the NCAA or the CIS U SPORTS, where I envision combining academic pursuits while playing at a high level. The objective is to not only excel in hockey but also to obtain a degree, creating a well-rounded foundation for my future.
Player Description: I would describe myself as a skilled defender who plays with smarts and thinks the game quickly. I believe I am a strong two-way defender who uses my high hockey IQ in such a way that leads to a big impact on both ends of the ice.
My skating is one of my biggest strengths. I possess a powerful stride, and my edges allow me to be deceptive and create space to separate myself from my opponents.
Defensively, I am a positionally sound defender who can make a clean first pass or transport the puck out of our zone. I have an active stick that is an extension of me. This helps me disrupt plays/passes, close gaps, and regain possession.
In the offensive zone, because of my creativity and high IQ, I can understand and contribute to smart hockey plays that help my team generate offense. I am very good at getting my shot off and through from the point, on the net, and into high scoring areas. My shot is heavy, quick, and precise.
In the neutral zone is where I feel I have a great advantage as I can see plays before they develop and can close gaps quickly that lead to our opponents turning over the puck. I lose little to no speed when I transition from skating forward to backward and vis versa.
I believe I play my best hockey when games are physical, fast-paced, and intense. Those games offer me a chance to show my skillset and potential while also providing me with opportunities to grow.
